Ashra of Forgiveness – The Second Ashra of Ramadan Kareem

The holy month of Ramadan Kareem is divided into three ashras. Every Ashra of Ramadan Kareem has a huge significance. Every single day of Ramadan is a source of great blessing from Almighty Allah, in which rewards are bestowed to every Muslim.

The second Ashra of Ramadan Kareem is famously known as the Ashra of forgiveness. The second Ashra of Ramadan starts from the eleventh Roza and continues till the end of the twentieth Roza. In the blessing month of Ramadan Muslims seeks forgiveness from Almighty Allah, especially in this Ashra. It is compulsory for Muslims to make a commitment not to repeat similar mistakes in his life when he repents to Allah Almighty for their evil act. It is clearly mentioned in the Holy Quran

“And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Quran, 73:20)

Second Ashra of Ramadan- Forgiveness

The second Ashra is the time of forgiveness for all Muslims for their bad habits and deeds they performed ever in their life. It consists of ten days and every Muslim must especially pray from Almighty Allah for the forgiveness of his sins that he committed. From many Religious scholars, it is also stated that it is the special time of asking forgiveness for your sins and all the wrong deeds you ever did. In the Holy Quran, it is clearly mentioned to refrain yourself from performing evil deeds, in case mistakenly if you have performed one then do ask forgiveness from Almighty Allah and make a commitment of not repeating that mistake ever again in your life. During the holy month of Ramadan Kareem, every Muslim must pray especially and devote his most time for praying the obligatory deeds, to perform special prayer many Muslims also sit for Itikaf in the third Ashra of Ramadan Kareem. Every Ashra in Ramadan Kareem has its own special dua, dua for the second Ashra of Ramadan Kareem is

Astagfirullaha rab-bi min kulli zambiyon wa-atoobuilaiyh

I seek forgiveness from Allah for all my sins and turn to Him.

Obligatory Prayers:

There is no doubt that all the obligations in which offering Namaz five times a day, Zikr of Almighty Allah, and recitation of Holy Quran are the important deeds to perform daily in the life of a Muslim. All of these obligations performed by a Muslim have a special reward from Almighty Allah in the Holy month of Ramadan Kareem. Which makes Muslims closer to the blessings and rewards of Almighty Allah. Fasting is the most prestigious obligation that makes Muslims very closer to the blessings of Almighty Allah. The connection of Muslims with Almighty Allah when we fast and perform all deeds that have huge importance.

Namaz

Namaz, five times a day is an obligatory act to perform by every Muslim. Namaz is the second pillar of Islam, which prevents every Muslim from evil deeds and actions to perform in their daily life. A special blessing from the start of the day till the end of the day is awarded for Muslims who offer prayer five times a day with no delay. Namaz is performed early in the morning, afternoon, evening, at the time near sunset, and in the late evening. In Namaz, Muslims recite ayat from the Holy Quran. Offering Namaz five times a day makes a firm connection of a believer to the blessings of Almighty Allah that can never be broken. So, a Muslim must make this as the goal of his life that he must not miss obligatory prayers (Namaz) and perform them in accordance with time as said by Almighty Allah.

Hazrat Abdullaah ibn Amr ibn al-Aas quotes the  Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) as saying

“It will be said to the companion of the Quran ‘Read and elevate (through the levels of paradise) and beautify your voice as you used to do when you were (alive). For verily, your position in paradise will be at the last verse you recited!’”

Recitation of the Holy Quran has huge importance in the life of a Muslim. Muslims must recite the Holy Quran with a beautiful voice as much as they can. It is the part of the daily life of many Muslims, which they start their day with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the Morning Prayer Fajar. The start of the day with the blessings of Almighty Allah makes their day full of delighted moments. Performs Zikr for Forgiveness

There is no doubt that Zikr of Almighty Allah throughout the day makes the spiritual connection of your soul to Almighty Allah stronger. Many people use various sources like prayer beads, tasbeeh beads, or digital tasbeeh to have a firm connection of zikr with Almighty Allah. While many Muslims also like to have zikr at their fingertips, which is indeed has a huge significance. Muslims recites Ayat and duas to keep his soul connected to the zikr of Almighty Allah. Firm connection with the zikr of Almighty Allah makes a Muslim free from stress and tensions of daily life activities. Performing Zikr of Almighty Allah keeps him active and provides him the strength to accept the new challenges of life. It is a common observation that a Muslim with a deep connection to Almighty Allah throughout the day never makes him demotivated from the challenges of life.

Forgiveness

Regarding the matter of forgiveness,

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in His hadith:

“If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he expects not.” (Abu Dawud)

It is clear from the above hadith of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) that if a Muslim kept asking for forgiveness, then Almighty Allah would purify him from all his sins from a source that he doesn’t even expect it. So, every Muslim in this Holy month of Ramadan Kareem must have a firm connection with Almighty Allah in form of having zikr, offering Namaz, recitation of the Holy Quran, and many other good deeds. So, that he can be awarded endless blessings and rewards from Almighty Allah in the Holy month of Ramadan Kareem.
